Hidden away in the dark woods of Dade City, Florida, SCREAM-A-GEDDON has grown into one of the country’s premier Halloween destinations. Its isolated setting immediately works in its favor. Long before guests enter their first attraction, they are surrounded by darkness, woods and the feeling that they have left the normal world behind.
Rather than relying on a single haunted house, SCREAM-A-GEDDON offers a collection of distinctly themed attractions ranging from supernatural horror and twisted characters to intense, immersive environments. The variety allows the park to continually change the pace throughout the night, while interactive elements in select attractions can put particularly brave guests directly into the action.
The newest addition to its offerings is Bonzo’s Bizarre, a revamped midway area that brings SCREAM-A-GEDDON closer to its big theme park brothers and sisters in Orlando — full of drinks, food, games and, yes, roaming monsters. The amount of scares happening inside the Bizarre make it seem like a brand-new haunted house by itself.
